Reconfig is a modular and reconfigurable training system designed for defence, public safety and civil preparedness. It uses movable and rotatable wall modules to create training environments that can be changed quickly, allowing one facility to support a wide range of layouts, scenarios and training objectives.
The system is built around foldable, movable and rotatable inner wall elements that are assembled in a specific manner to allow them to quicly be repositioned to make different room layouts and scenario setups. Instructors can reconfigure the environment, adjusting complexity and training conditions without needing multiple separate buildings.
The exact number of possible room layouts depends on the size and shape of the building, but in practice the system enables several million combinations. Each wall element can be adjusted into multiple configurations and placed in different orientations. The combination of these variables across the interior walls creates an exponential increase in possible layouts.
Because layouts and scenarios can be changed repeatedly, personnel are exposed to greater variation than in static facilities. This helps them train general principles and judgement that remain useful when the environment changes, rather than becoming dependent on rehearsed responses tied to known buildings.
Unlike a conventional training building, Reconfig is designed to support multiple layouts and scenarios within the same footprint. This can improve area utilisation, reduce reliance on multiple dedicated facilities and lower both cost and environmental footprint over time. It also gives instructors greater flexibility to adapt training to changing needs.
Yes, the system can support several forms of breaching training through compatibility with third-party breaching modules, including solutions from suppliers such as Sweden Entry Tools (SET Breaching). This allows breaching elements to be integrated into the training setup. Compatibility and use will depend on the selected module, configuration and training method.
The walls are based on a steel frame with exterior panels clad in highly durable corrosion-resistant steel. It is designed for repeated operational use, high mechanical loads and frequent reconfiguration. Critical wear components are dimensioned with margin to support long service life, reliable function and minimal downtime.
